 What do you mean instrumentation hook up drawings

Hook up drawings  represents installation standards is called hook up drawings with hook-up drawings, engineer can understand how any instrument to be installed in the plant as per plant requirements. With hook-up drawing, we can calculate the material requirement. Two types of hook up drawings are there.

1. Process hookup.
Here instruments are directly connected to process line.

2. Pneumatic hookup.
It is independent of process connection. Pneumatic hookup is basically Tubing/piping.

Flow Meter

What is flow meter

A flow meter is a device used to measure the volume or mass of a gas or liquid flow meters measure either volume or mass.



What is volumetric flow meter.

Volumetric flow meter directly measure the volume of fluid (Q) passing through the flow meter.
The flow (Q) is equal to the cross-sectional area of the pipe (A) in a volumetric flow meter, and the velocity of the flowing fluid (v): Q = A * v.

What is Mass flow meter.
Mass flow meters utilize techniques that measure the mass flow (W) of the flowing stream.
The mass flow can be expressed in a mass flow meter as follows: ṁ = Q ∗ρ (where Q is the volumetric flow rate and ρ is the fluid density).

Types of Volumetric flow meter.
Different types of volumetric flow meter used in industry select the flow meter depend upon flow rate, accuracy and many other factors for example.

·  Ultrasonic flow meter

·  Vortex flow meter

·  Magnetic flow meter

·  Turbine flow meter

·  Paddle Wheel flow meter
